Want to become a better you?
It might be all over social media as soon as January 1st hits but I refuse to subscribe to the whole “New Year, New You” thing. Why? Because there’s nothing wrong with the person you – or I – already are!
Sure, there might be things we want to change and areas of our lives we want to improve. But that doesn’t mean we have to create a whole new us.
I firmly believe that instead of trying to change who we are, instead of trying to create a ‘new‘ self, we should instead be working to unleash the person inside ourselves we know we’re capable of being.
And so, if like me, you’re not a fan of the whole “New Year, New You” thing either, I have something else I want you to aim for instead.

That’s right, it’s time to say goodbye to “New Year, New You” and hello to “New Year, Better You“. And this brand-new series is going to help you do just that!
Each week, here on the blog I’ll be sharing my top five favourite Friday finds. The book, podcast episode, YouTube video, blog post and freebie that are going to help you become a better you and crush those personal growth goals.
Everything I share will be something I’ve read, listened to, watched or used to help me become a better version of myself. Something that I know will help you to become a better you too.

BOOK OF THE WEEK: Good Vibes, Good Life by Vex King
How self-love is the key to unlocking your greatness…
Just the tagline alone is enough to make you want to pick up this gem of a book! I’ve not quite finished it yet but what I have read so far has been packed full of golden nuggets that I want to go back and highlight.
With sections on positive lifestyle habits, making yourself a priority and ways to accept yourself, it’s a great read if you want to overcome the fears holding you back, turn negative thoughts and emotions into positive ones and make your wellbeing more of a priority.
Good Vibes, Good Life is a book that I know I’m going to read again and again. And as someone who can’t resist quotes, I really like that the majority of the chapters start with one.
My favourite quote so far?
“Not everyone is going to get you, accept you or even try to understand you. Some people will just not receive your energy well. Make peace with that and keep on moving towards your joy.”
It really struck a chord with me because worrying about what others think is something I’ve struggled with for years. Not letting the fear of being judged, of making a fool of myself or disappointing the ones I love stop me from chasing my dreams is something I have to work on every single day. And this book has definitely given me the encouragement I need to keep working at it.

Packed full of great tips and practical advice, Marie is funny and pretty entertaining too. The show fills you with confidence that you can become the person you want to be – whatever your situation.
As an added bonus, she has podcast versions of the episodes so that you can listen to them on the go too!

This first post of 2020 might be a big one but it’s also a fun one because this year, I’ve decided to do something a little different. In a bid to lead a more intentional life, I’ve decided to do a year of 30-day challenges. And I’d LOVE for you to join me!
