INSIDE: It’s Day 17 of the 30 Days to a Stress-Free Christmas challenge! Today is all about what Christmas means to you. Make sure you’re spending time with the ones you love doing the things you want to do with the help of this challenge. Let’s dive in!
Welcome back to the 30 Days to a Stress-Free Christmas challenge!
We’ve covered a lot of ground over the last couple of weeks. We’ve talked about working out what to do when, setting our budget, getting winter-ready and all things gift-related.
Next week we’ll be taking a look at our food and meal preparations – which I can’t wait to share with you! But before we do that, we’re going to focus on something a little bit different…
For the next few days, we’ll be looking at how to make the most of the time you have with family and friends over the Christmas break. I’ll be setting challenges that’ll help you to:
- Focus on what really matters.
- Finalise which friends and family members you’re seeing when.
- Make the most of the build-up to Christmas Eve with your kids.
- Make time for you and add a bit of self-care to your day.
Why include a week like this?
Because enjoying a happy, stress-free Christmas isn’t just about the presents under the tree and lots of yummy food. Although that’s fun too! Enjoying a happy, stress-free Christmas is also about enjoying the festivities with the ones we love. It’s about having quality time with friends and family and taking the time to unwind and relax.
It’s also about being grateful for what we already have, living in the moment and enjoying the here and now.
We spend so much time getting everything sorted, trying to create an awesome Christmas for everyone else that we forget to stop and enjoy the moment too. It’s so easy to get caught up in our to-do lists and not spend time enjoying the magic with our kids. Our self-care can get put on the back burner too.
But not this Christmas!
This year we’ll be taking care of all this and MUCH more. Are you excited to get started? Me too! Let’s dive in and take a look at the first challenge for this week.
Challenge #17: Think about what Christmas means to you…
So, what does Christmas mean to you?
What’s most important to you when it comes to the Christmas break? Is it time with family? Is it being able to get on the floor and play with your kids? Is it about catching up with relatives you haven’t seen all year? The opportunity to go for long walks or all curl up and watch movies together?
Take the time to think about this and you’re more likely to experience a Christmas that really means something. A Christmas that has great memories and one that is happy and fun.
Spend a few moments writing down what Christmas really means to you. Ask yourself what’s a priority for you, who you want to spend your time with and what you’d like to do. Ask your family and friends what they would like to do too. Your kids may come up with things you’ve never thought of doing. It’s a great way to find out what their favourite parts of Christmas are too – which can lead to new family traditions – which we’ll be covering later this week!
That’s it for today!
