So…are you ready to get back into all things Christmas planning?
Me too! In a moment we’ll be switching things up with a brand-new challenge…but before we dive in, there’s something I want you to do first:
I want you to spend a few minutes going through your notebook.
Set aside a few minutes to read through all your notes. Take a look and see if there are any actions you can take this week to start making your Christmas a reality.
What can you do now that’ll save you time later? Decide what you can get started on THIS WEEK and make a plan. Remember, the earlier you start, the more time you’ll have later to enjoy the festivities!
And now for today’s challenge…are you ready? Let’s do this!
Challenge #6: Declutter those toys!
That’s right! For today’s challenge, I want you to be brave and find some time over the next few weeks to declutter your kids’ bedrooms. To declutter all the toys. An incredibly daunting task I know…trust me, I feel your pain! But here’s the thing…
Christmas means gifts!
Let’s be honest, for our kids (and maybe us too!) Christmas is pretty much all about the presents Santa brings. And whilst that’s great, new toys and games need homes! We need to find somewhere to put them and with bedrooms already crammed with toys, it can be hard to find the space.
And so, that’s why today’s challenge is all about decluttering those toys and making room!
Decluttering all the toys…
It always amazes me just how much ‘stuff’ my youngest has! No matter how hard I try to keep it tidy, his room is ALWAYS a mess!
I like to think we’re pretty minimal but every time I clean his room I surprise myself. I’m sure his toys breed all by themselves! I regularly have to declutter his toys and games and I always come out with piles of things to donate, recycle or sell.
This time of year is a great time to declutter their toys and make room for the new things you know they’re going to get on Christmas Day. It’s also a good opportunity to see what no longer fits, what needs repairing and what needs replacing. And who knows, decluttering may even spark a few ideas for presents too!
Make time to declutter those toys!
Try and find some time over the next few weeks to go through your child’s bedroom. Empty out their drawers and wardrobes. Remove clothes that no longer fit. Throw away any broken toys and remove those they either no longer play with or have outgrown.
See what you can donate, recycle or sell too. You never know, you may even make some money to add to your Christmas budget!
Plus, there’s nothing more satisfying than having a good clear out, right?! Just make sure you enjoy the extra space and tidiness while it lasts!
