The ULTIMATE Harry Potter Fan Gift Guide…
If you have a fellow Potterhead but have no idea what to get them for Christmas this year, this is THE gift guide for you! Why? Because most of these have already been tried and tested by yours truly and those that haven’t, probably will be sometime soon!
I absolutely LOVE all things Harry Potter and have lost count of the number of times I’ve watched the movies and read the books. Every birthday and Christmas there’s always at least one Harry Potter related gift on my wishlist. I’ve even started reading the books to my youngest just so I have an excuse to read them again!
Perfect for the Harry Potter fan in your life, these gifts are guaranteed to hit the spot, no matter how old or young your fellow wannabe witch or wizard might be. Ready to find out what they are? Let’s dive in!
#1 | Harry Potter Scrabble
Huge Scrabble fans, my Hubby and I have both the original board and this brilliant Harry Potter version. More often than not, we’ll choose this over the traditional one. It’s just so much more fun! As well as the regular double letter, double word and triple word squares, you also get Hogwarts squares. Lay a tile on one of those and you pick up a Hogwarts card. These help you to take tiles from an opponent, change your hand without losing a go and increase your score amongst other things. You also get to play as one of the houses too. It makes for a great at-home date night!

#2 | Wizards Welcome sign
This sign is SO cool! It’s on my wishlist for Christmas this year so I can hang it on my office door. The perfect Harry Potter fan stocking filler, you can also get one that says ‘The Cupboard Under the Stairs‘ (great for getting your child to behave!) and one with ‘Room of Requirement‘ on it. It’s tempting to order all three!
#3 |
Hogwarts travel mug
This travel mug is one of my favourite Harry Potter accessories. I use it most mornings for that first cup of coffee and it’s great for the car too. My coffee stays nice and hot and the lid means that if it gets knocked over there’s a lot less mess. It’s pretty accurate too because every Harry Potter fan would much rather be at Hogwarts!
#4 | Harry Potter Trivial Pursuit
I’ve never been very good at Trivial Pursuit, but the Harry Potter version? That I can do! This is a version I know the answers to and it makes me feel smart instead of stupid. It’s also a Trivial Pursuit I can finally beat my husband at – much to his disgust! The best part though is you don’t need a Trivial Pursuit board to play it. The perfect size for travel, it’s great to play with your kids in the car or on a plane. Questions include the Dark Arts, magical spells and potions, magical objects and Hogwarts amongst others.

#5 | Gryffindor notebook
I LOVE a good excuse to buy a new notebook…who doesn’t, right?! And what better a notebook to get than a Gryffindor one?! If Gryffindor isn’t their preferred house though, there are notebooks for Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw available too. And if you can’t decide, well you could always give them all four! Packed full of illustrations and details about their favourite house as well as plenty of space to write, this notebook will make any Harry Potter fan feel like a student of Hogwarts!

#6 | Bertie Bott’s selection box
This hamper looks so good, it’d be hard to know what to dive into first! I’ve always wanted to try the every flavour beans…as long as there are no earwax or bogey flavoured ones that is! The butterscotch beer is as close to Butterbeer as you’ll get and every Harry Potter fan has to be given a chocolate frog at some point…just make sure it doesn’t jump out the window!
#7 | Tin wall sign Decree No. 82
The Half-Blood Prince is probably my favourite film, but it’s closely followed by The Order of the Phoenix. I just love all the educational decrees that Dolores Umbridge keeps coming up with and I guarantee that the Harry Potter fan in your life does too. This cute sign is just begging to be hung on the wall of their garage or shed!
#8 | Harry Potter Cluedo
All Cludeo fans will LOVE the Harry Potter version of this classic game. A fellow student has vanished and you get to solve the disappearance. Travel around the castle board using the secret passages whenever possible to find out who was responsible, the spell they used and where. Was it Lucius Malfoy with a Portkey in the Divination room? Or maybe it was Dolores Umbridge with a mandrake in the Room of Requirement? When you think you know the answer, head to Dumbledore’s office and ‘out’ the culprit. Whether it’s with friends or family, Harry Potter Cluedo makes for a great games night!

#9 | Spell bracelet charms
A gift for my birthday last year, I was given these spell charm beads and I love them! A surefire way to make your Harry Potter fan friend’s bracelet more interesting, there’s Expelliarmus, Stupefy, Alohomora and Obliviate. Be warned though, once you start collecting them, it’s hard to stop! I now also have the set with the Sorting Hat, Ministry of Magic emblem, a quill and Dobby as well as the Triwizard Cup, the Deathly Hallows, the Golden Snitch AND a cauldron too!
#10 | Marauder’s Map puzzle
This one is on my Christmas wish list this year too. Doing puzzles together has become a bit of a family thing. We’ll put it out on the table in the dining room and do a little bit together each night before bed. It’s a great way to while away a rainy Sunday afternoon too. The boys all have puzzles they love and so it’s time to add one to the collection that’s for me! With 1,000 pieces it makes a pretty cool ‘something different‘ gift for the Harry Potter fan. And if you think they’d prefer the real thing instead, here’s the Marauder’s Map itself… Don’t forget to say ‘mischief managed‘ when you’re done though!

#11 | Harry Potter dining set
This four-piece dining set is a must-have for EVERY Harry Potter fan. The mug and bowl is THE perfect way to start the day. It might not quite be breakfast at Hogwarts, but it’s as close to being in the Great Hall as it gets. Bring out the cauldron cakes and pumpkin juice! And if you’re looking for a stocking filler, you can buy just the bowl on its own here…

#12 | Hogwarts wax seal stamp kit
For a Harry Potter collectable, this is pretty cool. All you need is some parchment and a quill and you can send letters the Hogwarts way. With seals for all four houses plus the Hogwarts crest to choose from, this wax seal stamp kit is guaranteed to make any Harry Potter fan put down their phone and opt for owl post instead. I really want one of these!

#13 | Unofficial Harry Potter cookbook
Who doesn’t want to try pumpkin pasties, rock cakes, cauldron cakes and pumpkin juice? This unofficial cookbook features recipes from the movies that even muggles would love. With ‘Treats from the Train‘, recipes from ‘A Giant and an Elf‘ to ‘Dinner in the Dining Hall‘ and sweets from Hogsmeade, this book would be brilliant for a Harry Potter-themed dinner party.
#14 | The books!
No Harry Potter fan collection is complete without a set of the books! If your Harry Potter-loving friend is anything like me, they’ll have read the books from cover to cover so many times their copies are looking a little dog-eared. Why not treat them to a brand new set so they can start reading them all over again? This set is perfect too for introducing Harry Potter to your kids. I may have to buy it this year to give to my youngest so he no longer has to read mine! Think they’ll prefer the hardback version? You can get that here…and whilst ordering it, don’t forget the complete collection of Harry Potter movies too!
#15 | The Making of Harry Potter
Saving the best for last…the ultimate gift for the biggest Harry Potter fan? A trip to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London of course! I’ve been twice now and it’s on my bucket list for next year too, but this time with my youngest. There’s SO much to see and being surrounded by all the scenes, props and costumes is a Potterhead’s dream come true. Being able to walk up Diagon Alley, hang out in the Great Hall, step onto the Knight Bus and drink Butterbeer is enough to make any Harry Potter fan combust with excitement!
Gifts for the Harry Potter Fan…
There you have it. My definitive list of gifts for the ultimate Harry Potter fan!
I might have had to resign myself to the fact that my Hogwarts letter is never going to arrive and I’m never going to have the privilege of the Sorting Hat telling me which house I’m in (Griffyndor please!), but that’s not going to stop me asking for Harry Potter related gifts. A wannabe-witch can pretend can’t she?! And if it’s the same for the Harry Potter fan you know, make them feel a little bit closer to the magic this Christmas by getting them one of the gifts above!
