Pinterest boards for mums…
As a busy mum trying to figure it all out and get it all done, Pinterest can be a TOTAL GAME CHANGER! If used in the right way, this little app can seriously help you reduce overwhelm and make life easier to manage. All you need to do is be a little bit strategic about the boards you’re creating.
I’ve been using my Pinterest account with the boards I’m about to share with you for a couple of years now and I have to admit that if I removed it from my phone, life without Pinterest would be pretty hard going! A big claim to make I know, but it’s true! I visit Pinterest at least once a day. Not just to pin new pins but actually use the pins I’ve saved.

Which boards to create?
So are you intrigued? Do you want to know which boards to create in order to make Pinterest work for you? Here is my definitive list of Pinterest boards for mums. Create and use some or all of these, and I promise your life will become a lot easier to manage!
The BEST Pinterest Boards for mums…
1. Parenting tips
Getting your baby to sleep, teething, weaning and potty training. Starting school, homework, chores, bad behaviour, sibling rivalry. Pregnancy, newborns, toddlers, threenagers and teenagers. Whatever stage of parenting you’re at, whatever struggle you’re facing, add relevant posts to this board and have all the help you need right at your fingertips.
2. Things to do with the kids
This board has saved my bacon on more inset days than I can tell you. Coming up with new ways to entertain our kids and keep them occupied is tough. But create a board like this and you’ll never be stumped again. Think days out, rainy day activities, summer bucket lists, crafts to make together, science experiments to have fun with…the possibilities are endless!
3. Packed lunches
I try to make the contents of my youngest’s lunch box varied but sometimes I REALLY struggle to not give him the same thing every day. Whilst I’m never going to make those amazing looking Bento boxes (who has time for that?!), they certainly spark a few ideas and help me to switch things up a little!
4. Weeknight dinners
During the week our dinners have to be easy to make and on the table in as little time as possible. I also want them to be as varied and as healthy as I can make them too. So for me, this board is a must. Anything that’s quick, easy to make and has as few ingredients as possible gets pinned to it. Then, when I’m making my meal plan for the week I just scroll through and pick out the ones I want to make.
5. Weekend dinners
On the weekend we have a little more time and so Saturdays and Sundays are a good excuse to have a bit more fun. After a week of being really good, they’re a good excuse to be a little naughtier too! I use this board to pin all the yummy looking – slightly more calorific – recipes I want to make but don’t have enough time for during the week.

6. This week
If you only create one board from this list, make it this one. Why? Because there’s nothing more frustrating than coming up with a meal plan for the week and then not being able to find the recipe when you need it. Trust me, I’ve been there! But now I have this board, that no longer happens. I simply repin any meals I want to make over the coming week here so all my recipes are together. Come the end of the week, I just delete the pins and start all over again.
Side-note: If you create this board, make sure you’re repinning the recipe you want. Don’t just transfer it. Otherwise, when you delete it’ll be gone forever!
7. Home organisation
We could all do with a little help in getting our homes sorted and this board is perfect for that. Anything related to decluttering, storage solutions, clearing the paper clutter and keeping things tidy gets pinned to this board. Then, when I’m ready to start my next home organisation project, everything I need is ready and waiting!
8. Budgeting tips
Always on the lookout for ways to be more frugal, I created a budgeting tips board. More helpful than I could have imagined, I’ve even pinned a few budgeting printables that might come in handy later! What areas of your finances do you need help with most? Creating a budget, staying on top of your finances, reducing your outgoings, making your grocery budget stretch further. Whatever it might be, this is the board to pin everything to.
9. Gift lists
Gift lists are AMAZING and Pinterest is FULL of them! From baby showers to Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, you can also find gift lists for Valentine’s Day, weddings, anniversaries and Christmas. There are even gift lists for teachers and graduations! Think about which ones would help you the most and go hunting. You’ll never be stumped for gift ideas ever again!
10. Self-care
As mums we’re so busy looking after everyone else and as a result, our self-care gets put on the back burner. And that’s why I love my self-care board. It’s full of inspirational quotes and tips on how to make my own wellbeing a priority. Why not create one for yourself too and fill it with pins that help you take better care of yourself.
The ultimate list of Pinterest boards for mums…
There you have it, my ultimate list of Pinterest boards for mums. Exactly which boards you create, what you pin and how you organise them is entirely up to you, but these are a great place to start. Create them and life is guaranteed to become a lot less stressful and much more enjoyable! Just remember to actually use them – if you never use the pins you save this won’t work!
Use your Pinterest account for business?
Guess what? You can still make it work for you too! A lot of the boards I mention here you won’t see when you go to my Pinterest account because I’ve made them private. And you can do the same. Simply switch the boards you don’t want anyone to see to ‘secret’. I have a ton of other boards on my account (mostly recipes and ideas for our self-build dream), but you’d never know!
