How to reignite your passion in life…
Welcome to part two of the How to Elevate Your Life series by Nicole from Higher Level Living. A series all about stepping out of a life on autopilot and into one of purpose that’s packed full of simple but incredibly powerful tips and strategies. Strategies that are going to take you from just ‘existing‘ to living a life that’s on your terms. A life where you’re living your very best life.
In part one, we talked all about why you should be setting intentions as well as setting goals (so if you’ve not yet checked that out, make sure you do!). This post is all about the steps to take to reignite your passion in life. Are you ready? Let’s dive in!
Fed up with life on autopilot?
Let’s be honest, modern-day life is more busy and chaotic than ever. It’s way too easy to get caught up walking through the motions, doing what’s expected and living according to your to-do list.
But the longer you let pointless tasks, to-do lists, and people-pleasing take over your schedule, the more likely you are to lose your passion in life. Today I want to help you get ahead of this by sharing a couple of easy tips that will help you reignite your passion for life.
Tip #1: Commit to daily personal growth
Abraham Maslow was an American psychologist who was best known for creating Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. The 5 needs that must be met in order for a person to feel happy and fulfilled in life. There is quite a bit of focus on the first 4 needs in our life – physiological, safety, love/belonging, and esteem. But few people actually make the top need a priority in their life – the need for the self-actualization that comes with personal growth.
As humans, we are driven for progress. We have a burning desire to reach our full potential. When we are limiting that potential or holding ourselves back we become unmotivated, anxious, unhappy, and maybe even resentful in life. Over time this is what robs us our passion in life.
While reaching your potential is a life long journey, it’s something that will evolve and change as you evolve and change. Making your own personal growth a priority is something you can do each day that will ignite all-new levels of passion in your life.
DAILY PERSONAL GROWTH TIP: Keep it simple! Commit to listening to, watching or reading something that educates, inspires, or empowers you for just 10 minutes each day. Podcasts, YouTube and audiobooks make it so easy to incorporate personal growth into even the busiest and most chaotic of schedules.
Tip #2: Follow your curiosity
The second way to reignite your passion in life is to pay closer attention to the things that spark your curiosity. Is there something you are fascinated to learn more about? A new hobby you’ve been too afraid to start? A new activity or recipe you want to try? Do it!
ACTIVITY: Take a minute to write down anything and everything you are curious about. Then choose one and pursue it this week! Even a baby step towards things you are curious about will spark passion in your life.
Tip #3: Do more of the things that energise you
What makes you feel full of energy? Have you figured out the daily habits that make you feel like you have superpowers in life yet? Have you ever experienced a surge of energy when it made no logical sense because you were sleep-deprived?
These are the things that ignite your passion. They’re part of your makeup. They’re calling out to you and you would be doing yourself – and everyone around you – a disservice if you didn’t incorporate them into your life!
ACTIVITY: Pay closer attention to the things that give you natural energy. To the things that make you feel grounded and connected. To the things that you lose time when doing them…and then make them non-negotiable parts of your life.
You can do this!
I know it can be tough to make your own happiness a priority in life when you are trying to “balance” all the hats you wear. But to be the best you can, to give the best of you to those love, to live your most passionate best life…YOU need to be a priority in life.
These three activities are small activities that are easy to incorporate into even the busiest of schedules. Test them out and watch how it unlocks new levels of motivation, energy, and passion in your life. You’ll be amazed at how making a little time for you creates so much more time for everyone around you as well.
And when you’re ready for more small daily activities to ignite passion in your life check out Habits for Higher Level Living. A self-paced online course that guides you through 17 habits that will elevate and energize you in the pursuit of your very best life.
All the love,

Reignite your passion for life…
Thank you so much for this post, Nicole! Such great ways to reignite your passion in life. No matter how much that flame might have dwindled, they’re guaranteed to reignite the spark! Here they are again:
- Commit to daily personal growth.
- Follow your curiosity.
- Do more of the things that energise you.
I especially like the idea of following your curiosity because it’s so easy to stay where we are. To keep doing what we do, never trying anything new. But we all have things that we’d like to try and things that spark our curiosity. And sometimes we need to dip our toes and give them a try, right? I shall definitely be making more of an effort to do this more often!
That’s it for this post!
